About the Resource

This scheme of work teaches pupils how to create atmosphere and tension and understand why they are important elements in the creation of Drama. The scheme culminates in the pupils creating their own movie trailers which can then be edited on movie software such as imovies. If this is not possible then filming the trailers and watching them back is just as rewarding. This is an engaging scheme where the students learn how to ‘hook’ an audience into their Drama. The students will learn different storytelling techniques and be able to evaluate and explore the medium of film. There are many cross-curricular opportunities which include, Media, ICT, English and Music.  Students will get the chance to explore costume, props, theatrical make up, lighting and sound fx. Students particularly love creating their own horror movie scenes, so be prepared for a fright!
