About the Resource

A Unit of work which can span half a term to a term depending on your needs is presented here as a flexible scheme of 6 lessons. This scheme, though aimed at Key Stage 3, can equally be adapted for Key Stage 4 and 5 and used to explore ways into devising for examination preparation

The scheme can also be used in conjunction with work around developing groups, trust and character.

The format is to present the unit as 3 blocks of work which comprise 6 lessons or more. Block 1 deals with developing practical skills, rules and knowledge around spontaneous improvisations using various practical starting points and covers up to 4 lessons work.

Blocks 2 and 3 allow students to further embed knowledge developed earlier and move on to developing more polished improvised work and characters.

The activities are supported by 7 resources and allow teachers the flexibility to take the work in various directions suiting their own students.
