About the Resource

For Charlie (don't call her Charlotte) life at home is unbearable. For Bram it’s pretty much the same. And school.... well school just sucks. But these outsiders have found each other and soon come to realise that they have a lot more in common than their shared love of cult horror films.

Charlie and Bram is a dark comic play that deals with alienation, bullying, over bearing parents, arson and teachers who don’t even know you exist. Fast paced, experimental with form, Bram and Charlie is an edgy play that packs a punch, giving a voice to the outsiders. Oh, and there’s a gripping gruesome finale with a twist.

Suitable for Edexcel GCSE Unit 3 / AQA Unit 2 and BTEC.  Students will find the play exciting and challenging with much to identify with. The play is also perfect for youth theatre and is suited for a young adult audience. Approx 40 minutes. Suited to a cast between 6- 12 with multi-role, but could stretch to a few more.
