Many Drama teachers are asked to make predictions / estimates / forecasts of their students' future performance in GCSE Drama based on Fischer Family Trust (FFT) data. The data which is given to Drama teachers is OFTEN WRONG as those in charge of distributing have made a false assumption.

Advice if your GCSE results are lower than targets / predictions (also read full article):

1 If you were given FFT targets, find out what they were based on.

2 If they were taken from the FFT Arts strand, they are WRONG.

3 FFT say predicted Drama grades should be the same as predicted English grades, not taken from the Arts strand. Most of us would recognise this as nonsensical.

4 If your students have underperformed in Drama (according to FFT), then cross-check their English target / actual. If there is also under-performance here, this would tend to say more about the student or the FFT system than the teacher.

Read the article written by Clive Hulme which sent shockwaves through many Drama departments. Even the Times Educational Supplement (TES) ran an article based on it (see here). Are you being judged on the wrong data? Is your Performance Management based on a false premise?
